London and Luxembourg based cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp has announced that it has appointed Internet and marketing veteran Barbara Daliri as the company’s first Chief Growth Officer for its global business.
In her role, Barbara Daliri will be leading Bitstamp’s sustainable global growth and go-to-market approach, as well as supporting the rapid increase in customer engagement that Bitstamp is experiencing across all its key markets.
Daliri spent more than two decades in the Internet and marketing sector and held multiple executive roles at leading high-growth tech companies. This includes Marketing and Sales executive roles at Google, Netflix and Microsoft, where she led the companies’ growth and expansion strategies in Europe.
Joining from Europe’s leading fashion e-commerce company Zalando, Daliri’s appointment comes at a crucial time for Bitstamp as the company continues with its extensive growth plans and expands its range of services and trading options across the globe – reaffirming itself as a leading, customer-orientated crypto exchange.
Bitstamp is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and has opened a new chapter in its growth story, which is not only reflected by new product launches, but also by recent high-profile hires like Barbara Daliri, new US CEO Bobby Zagotta, Mel Tsiaprazis, Chief Commercial Officer and Jean-Baptiste Graftieaux, Bitstamp’s Managing Director for Europe.
Julian Sawyer, CEO, Bitstamp said:
“With our customer numbers increasing over 130% in the last year, it is essential for us to appoint new, high-quality executives for the business to ensure that this momentum is maintained and so we can build on our 10 years of legacy. Barbara’s experience at the cutting edge of tech innovation speaks for itself and we look forward to seeing Barbara apply her knowledge to the crypto world and drive Bitstamp’s growth forward through our second decade.”
Barbara Daliri, now Chief Growth Officer at Bitstamp added:
“I am delighted to be joining Bitstamp. Having started my career just when the Internet was taking off, I am very much drawn to the next challenge of crypto, as it’s a highly innovative industry with the potential to digitally transform finance, much like other sectors have experienced. The promise of decentralised finance – more efficient, more tech-driven, and potentially more democratic – is big, and crypto might influence not only the future of finance but many more aspects of people’s lives. I am very excited to be supporting the Bitstamp team in driving crypto’s entry into mainstream culture, as well as leading the exchange’s growth ambition.”
Bitstamp calls itself the world’s longest-running crypto exchange. It has consistently ranked in the top 10 spot crypto markets, in terms of volume, for almost a decade. Over the last year the exchange has listed 22 new assets and added over 70 trading pairs, and added new services such as Bitstamp Earn.
